Chia seeds are originated from the Guatemalan and Mexican regions, and they started being used for the first time by the Aztec civilization, since it provided a strong nutritional input, fundamental for their necessities.

These seeds possess large quantities of Omega 3 (In greater quantities than salmon for example). They also possess all of the essential amino acids that the human being requires, being an excellent source of protein.

Chia seeds also have in their composition vitamins and minerals, magnesium, iron, manganese, calcium and fibers (That promote good digestion), and are a great source of antioxidants.

One of the characteristic of these seeds is that they are soluble, meaning that they increase size in the stomach, providing a satiating sensation, therefore helping in losing weight.

Contrary to other seeds, chia seeds are easily digested.

Another benefit that they bring despite being soluble is that when they absorb water, they help in the digestion of carbon hydrates, supplying a slow energy release to the blood stream.

They also help in cholesterol and triglycerides reduction.

Due to a high quantity of calcium, chia seeds help in the formation and the maintenance of our bone structure. They help in the elimination of toxins on our body and prevent diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
