WHAT IS THE Matcha?
Coming from Japan, Matcha is extracted from the camellia sinensis plant (the same plant from which green tea is extracted). Its concentration is higher than other teas from the same plant. Green in color and intense flavor, Matcha has come to be known for its benefits in aiding weight loss. However, beyond this benefit, others of equal importance are associated with it. Matcha is a rich antioxidant from the group of catechins that help fight cancer. It has 60 times more antioxidants than spinach. Antioxidants are chemical compounds that help prevent aging, chronic diseases and infections – and in that sense, matcha is unsurpassed. It also functions as a diuretic as it helps in reducing fluid retention and in turn in volume loss. In this way it is an excellent product to lose weight when consumed regularly. It also helps to fight higher cholesterol levels by significantly lowering and controlling them. Matcha also has L-Theanine in greater quantity than other teas in the market, and thus contributes to the decrease of stress levels, lowering blood pressure. Benefits of Matcha: – Vitamin C: helps the immune system work well, strengthens the skin, hair and nails, and helps protect against cardiovascular diseases. – Fiber: lowers cholesterol levels, improves bowel function and controls blood sugar levels. – Protein: assists in muscle building and weight loss as it gives a greater sense of satiety. Matcha can be used in a variety of ways: in tea, mixed with vegetable drinks, in yogurts, desserts and cakes. This is a certified product from organic farming.
